So I woke up yesterday and was getting ready for my Allergist appointment (more on that in a minute) and had no idea what was waiting for me outside until I got in the shower and looked out the window... and it was SNOWING!!!! WTF?! I don't remember hearing anything about snow at all in the weather forecasts.
It wasn't just snowing, it was snowing REALLY hard. And it was windy. Luckily it only lasted for a few hours (maybe 3 or 4?) and then naturally it went up to 50 degrees and was bright and sunny a few hours later. Because why wouldn't it be like that?
Pulled over on the way to the allergist. I swear every time I'm supposed to go to the allergist it snows! The last time I was supposed to go for Patch Testing there was a crazy snow storm and I had to cancel!
I saw these decals on the car in front of me and I had to take a picture of it! I'm not into Star Trek but I love it when people let their nerd flags fly. My friend is a big Star Trek fan too so I had to send him the pic :)
Another sunset pic! Can you tell that I love sunsets? Especially beautiful ones like we were treated to tonight.
And saving the best for last, it's my sweet Tyler! I went to see my niece after work today and watch her for an hour and that means I get to see my nephew as well ;) I couldn't get him to look at me but I love this picture.
So as a little update (and as I mentioned earlier in the post), I went to the Allergist yesterday to have some patch testing done. If you don't know what that is basically I have these patches taped to my skin that contain diluted amounts of chemicals, preservatives, metals, etc. I decided to have this done for two reasons. First, because of the reaction I had after dying my hair the last time and second, because my skin has been out of control lately. I get rashes and it's very weird... especially the one on my throat. Not feeling that so I'm trying to figure out if it is because of allergies. It would make sense considering I seem to be allergic to everything nowadays.
Anyway, the patches stay on for 48 hours and then they are removed and the area is observed. Then it is observed again 48 hours after that because some allergies may have a delayed reaction. All I can tell you is that I'm definitely allergic to something because there is one strip of patches that is DRIVING ME CRAZY!!! OMG I'm so itchy! I can't wait to get these taken off because if it's not an allergy then this hypoallergenic tape must be irritating the heck out of me. In either case I can't stand it. If you've ever had skin testing done (with a positive result) imagine that itchiness being constant for 48 hours. Or I guess more like 36 hours because it really started today.
Anyway, that's all I've got for you today! I hope that you've all had a great start to your week. Tomorrow I'm getting these things taken off and then I work late so I'm not sure if I'll be able to get a post up tomorrow but I'll try! Hope you all have a great day!
Oy! Now I want to scratch everywhere! It sounds like you might have found your allergy - and I wish you could get relief now.
ReplyDeleteTyler is such a sweetheart, and I'm sure Delilah is so much fun!
I love sunsets, especially since I'm usually grumpy at sunrise. ;) I love the Star Trek take on the family member sticker - that's hilarious! Ah yea, spring snow. I think we're supposed to have some in the mountains in the next couple of days. Hmm. . .maybe there won't be hike.
OMG you have no idea. I have another two days of this torture until I can put everything I can find on it. The patches are off and as of right now my suspicions were correct and the patch for the chemical found in hair dye is the one that's driving me crazy. We need to wait another two days in case any more delayed reactions come up and also to keep an eye on the one for blue textile dye... interesting.
DeleteI know, he's the cutest boy! And Delilah is the cutest girl ;)
Haha wait til you see the sunrise I caught when I post next week ;) Ugh the spring snow is terrible, I was so bummed about it.
Oh man, I had allergy testing done a long time ago and I'm pretty sure they just took blood. I already have eczema and patch testing would drive me INSANE. Hope it's all worth it.
ReplyDeleteI heard about that freak snowstorm, haha. How bizarre.
You have no idea. This is terrible, I'm so freaking itchy. 2 more days until I can do everything I can think of to stop the torture lol. It will all be worth it if I can pinpoint what the problem is and it seems like we have a few leads as of right now.
DeleteHa! The snow was so weird, I was definitely caught off guard by it!
Now I'm all itchy too now. Can't wait to hear what you are allergic to.
ReplyDeleteWe got that freak snow as well.
I love Tyler's summer cut.
Lol sorry! It's so unpleasant, this is a terrible process.
DeleteHow weird was that?! I had no idea it was coming!
I know, he's so cute :)
Ugh, those allergy patches sound awful! Any idea what exactly you're allergic to? By the way, I love that Star Trek decal--their pets are tribbles! Too cute. :)
ReplyDeleteIt is really awful. I have like a day and a half of itching until it's all over. Power of positive thinking!
DeleteIt appears to me right now that I'm allergic to PPD, a chemical found in hair dyes and a few other things (Including orange peels and sunblock??! WTF?!). They are also waiting to see if another borderline positive result manifests any more in the next few days... that is for a dark colored textile dye... so basically the dye used for dark blue, brown, black, purple and sometimes green colored textiles that are polyester or acetate. It kind of sounds like I'm about to have a major pain in the ass on my hands.
My friend told me about tribbles! I thought it was so funny :)
Awww you poor thing! By now they are off and I'm so so happy for you!
ReplyDeleteAww thanks Gabby! The patches have been off since Weds so luckily the itchiness caused by the tape and contact are gone... now it's just the itchiness from the allergies, ha!
