Some Meals

Three posts in one week! I'm on a roll ;) I realized that it had been a while since I posted some meals I've been eating so I tried really hard to remember to photograph some meals. I'm at a point where I don't really want to deal with photography or photo editing when I'm not at work so I just snapped some pictures on my phone. Here are some meals that I've eaten over the past few days!

You know I love my oats so here is a hot bowl of oats with cinnamon and topped with sliced almonds, coconut and raisins.

This is a random little snack back I made to munch on at work. There is dried pineapple, dried peaches and some almonds in there.

So my dad doesn't cook pretty much ever but he decided that he was on a mission to make veggie soup. For someone that doesn't cook he put together a really tasty, chunky veggie soup made with veggie broth.

A big ol' salad that I made. I dressed it with some olive oil and red wine vinegar.

Of course I have to have my peanut butter and banana on toast. Such a great breakfast... or lunch or dinner actually.

Shen requested to see these vintage pics of Jack and Eddie so here they are!!

Sweet Jack peeping out of the tree :) This was from a few years ago.

Eddie in his favorite spot!

Happy Saturday! I hope you are all enjoying your weekend so far. Mine has just begun and I'm very happy about it :)

(Another) e.l.f. Cosmetics Haul

Hey everyone! Im trying to be good about posting so I'm back with another e.l.f. cosmetics haul! I was so excited to find out that there is now a brick and mortar e.l.f. store at my local mall so naturally I had to take advantage of that. I hate buying cosmetics online because the swatches are never true to color and I like to be able to see and swatch everything in person. Anyway, I went in there looking for nail polish for a project I'm doing and naturally walked out with so much more. Luckily e.l.f. cosmetics are really affordable so the price tag on this haul was really reasonable!

Check out the haul!

Here is an overview of the haul as well as the reusable bags they put your purchase in. I am obsessed with this bag, I actually use it all the time now!

The first thing I got is this GORGEOUS Prism Palette in "Sunset." I must have been willing summer to come early with the purchase of this palette because I know it will be so amazing for summer eye looks. The colors are really shimmery and pigmented and I can't wait to play with it!

Next up I got a blush because I don't have a lot of blushes in my collection and this color is really pretty. This is the e.l.f. Studio Blush in the shade Twinkle Pink.

These are the four nail polishes (Essential Nail Polish and Glitter Nail Polish) that I got for my project that I'll be sharing with you soon! They are fun glitter and iridescent shades.

Naturally I had to buy myself a nail polish to wear too. This is in the shade Liquid Metal and they could not have chosen a more perfect name! It literally looks like I poured melted silver on my nails. The formula still isn't great as it chips really easily but the color is really pretty so I don't mind doing my nails a little more often.

Finally onto my favorite, Lipstick!! I got two shades of the Moisturizing Lipstick and I'm obsessed you guys. They look very similar but there are some differences once they are on your lips. This shade is called Crazy Cranberry and it shows up with more of a red undertone. It's like a brick red which is my favorite shade of red to wear.

This color may be my new favorite fall lipstick! I'm OBSESSED! The shade is called Wine Tour and it is the most gorgeous wine/berry color. It is so incredibly pretty. The only thing that sucks is that the bullet broke the very first time I used it. I've been able to use it but it's annoying but it only costs $3 so I'll probably just end up replacing it. I'll melt this one down and use it with a brush at home and I'll bring the new one with me to reapply.

So that's my haul! I hope you guys liked seeing it. If I have time on Monday I'll play around with the eyeshadow palette, blush and lipstick and I'll show you a fun look! I'll have to use the gold and bronzey tones in the palette with the fall lipstick but we'll see what I can come up with :)

I hope you are all having a great week! I'll be back on Monday with my February favorites post!

So Much Cuteness!!

Hi everyone! I hope you are doing well! I'm back from spending the weekend watching the fur babies at my brother's house and I'm not going to lie, it is the best weekend I've had in a long time. This introvert requires a lot of alone time (read: no humans, ha!) and there has been a major shortage of alone time recently. Getting out of my house and being able to decompress and cuddle with the cuties really helped me to recharge my batteries. It was also one of the most productive weekends I've had in a long time. I'll share more about that in a week or two but for today I'll show you some cuteness!

Finally, the elusive Jack!! I was going to change their water and she just looked at me and was being all cute and I was able to snap this picture.

This one is a little blurry but there is Eddie in the window. Yes, the window is open… it was in a moment of major productivity, it was soooooo hot!

Tyler and TJ both decided they wanted to lay on me. So freaking cute.

I love Tyler in the background of this picture.

Sweet TJ. He is such a mush!

Ok, that's all for today! I'm going to try really hard to photograph some meals to show you this week! I noticed it has been so long since I've done that! Stay tuned, hopefully I'll have that by the end of the week. I also have an e.l.f. cosmetics haul to show you which I'm hoping to have up in the next few days :)

I hope you are all staying warm, safe and dry!

January Favorites!

Hey everyone! I'm here tonight with my first monthly favorites post! It's a few days late but the snow has had me completely off track so I figured a few days late is better than never :) Anyway, the stuff I'm going to show you in this post is some stuff that I really was into for the month of January. Just as a side note... I got the idea to do monthly favorites from Youtube. However, my monthly favorites are actually my monthly favorites, not products that I was sent by sponsors or affiliates to sneak into a post (which is common practice in monthly favorite videos on Youtube). I have no sponsors and I am not affiliated with any companies (and if I ever was I would definitely tell you!).

So here are the things that I have genuinely been super excited about this month :)

First up we have Zoya Nail Polish! I had never used Zoya before but I received all of these except for the red on the far right as a gift from my friend for the holidays. I've used most of those five already and the colors and GORGEOUS and it is really nice quality. It is vegan and free of the "Big 5" which are Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, Toluene, Camphor and Dibutyl Phthalate. The color selection is also HUGE!

I was checking out the nail polish at Ulta shortly after I received the first five colors as a gift and one color stood out to me immediately. It was so gorgeous so I picked it up to check out the name of the polish and this is what I found...

What?!?! Clearly it was meant to be so I added it to my collection :)

How gorgeous is this color?! These polishes are a little pricey but I think the quality, color selection and the fact that it is big 5 free makes it worth the price.

My second favorite for the month is Freeman's Face Mask in Chocolate Strawberry. OMG you guys. This stuff smells like heaven. More importantly... it works! I have not had great luck using masks as most irritate my skin. I've been trying to have more pamper nights recently and a face mask was definitely missing from my routine. I had been looking for this particular one but hadn't had any luck finding it until last month. I've used it a few times and not only does it not irritate my skin, it makes my skin super soft and gets rid of the redness! It is amazing, smells delicious (it smells like chocolate pudding!) and is very affordable. I use it twice a week and I always look forward to it!

I feel like I was one of the last people to hear about the Serial podcast. All twelve episodes were out by the time I heard about it and decided to listen to it. I finally listened to the first episode at work and I ended up finishing all twelve within two days! It was so interesting and I just couldn't stop listening. If you haven't heard of it, Serial is a spinoff from This American Life (also an amazing podcast) about a true crime story from 1999 where a high school student disappeared and her body was found in a park. Her ex-boyfriend was convicted of murdering her and is serving a life sentence. The story came to the reporter from a friend of the convicted ex-boyfriend (and this friend happens to be an attorney) who says that he is innocent and the reporter spends the twelve episodes pouring through the evidence and picking the case and trial apart. It is so fascinating and it definitely had my full attention! I can't wait for the second season and I'm so curious about what the topic will be!

I know I've mentioned this show previously but Prospectors came back with their new season and I've been so into it as always. It is about a group of Colorado Prospectors digging for crystals and gemstones. I think it is so cool and I would love to try it someday. I can't imagine how amazing it must feel to find a crystal and know that it has been there for millions of years and that I would be the first to see it. It must be so incredible! Anyway, I love this show and if you get the Weather Channel (I think some carriers actually got rid of it, wtf?!) you should definitely check this show out! It has been preempted the last few weeks for winter storm coverage (and I assume it will be again this weekend since there is another storm coming) so I'm a few episodes behind but I can't wait to see them!

My next favorite from January is a snack! I know we have all heard of Trader Joes' Inner Peas snack (OMG so addictive!). In January I noticed that they had a new flavor of this delicious snack and instead of green peas it is made from beans. I decided to give it a try and it is so good! Just as addictive as the Inner Peas. Definitely give this snack a try, it is so good.

My last favorite for the month of January is actually a website. It is called Uncommon Goods and it is a website where you can find some really cool, unique gifts and products. They have a lot of handmade products, a lot of products that you can customize (weddings, significant other, etc.) and other really beautiful, creative merchandise. Some of it is quite pricey but they do have some really nice, affordable things. I would definitely recommend checking this website out, you may be able to find a unique, creative gift for your valentine :)

So there you have it, my first monthly favorites post! I hope you liked it! Let me know if you would like me to do this monthly and let me know what some of your favorite things were from January!

Have a great Friday!
